By downloading, installing, accessing, or using ZeroPets (the "App"), or any related website, Apple Wallet pass, or service operated by ZeroPets (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service. ZeroPets reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes through the App or by email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
ZeroPets is a pet identity, wellness, and lost pet recovery platform. Our core features include:
The Service is designed for personal, non-commercial use unless you have entered into a separate written agreement with ZeroPets (see Section 14, Enterprise Plan).
To use most features, you must create an account by providing accurate and complete information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities under your account. You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account and use the Service. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old and that the contact information you provide is your own and is accurate. You agree to notify ZeroPets immediately at ZeroPets@Outlook.com of any unauthorized use of your account.
You agree not to: (a) submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information about yourself, your pets, or any rescue organization; (b) impersonate any person, organization, or rescue; (c) upload viruses or malicious code; (d) harvest or collect other users' information without consent; (e) use the Service for any unlawful purpose, including animal trafficking, fraud, or harassment; (f) interfere with or disrupt the Service or its servers; (g) attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service; (h) use automated means (scraping, bots) to access the Service without written permission; (i) misuse the Lost Pet Pass or QR scan flow to harvest contact information for any purpose other than reuniting a lost pet with its owner; (j) misrepresent yourself as a rescue, sitter, or veterinary professional; or (k) reproduce, modify, or distribute the Apple Wallet pass templates outside the Service. Violation of these rules may result in immediate account termination and forfeiture of any associated content.
The Service issues Apple Wallet passes through Apple's PassKit Web Service. By adding a pass, you authorize ZeroPets to:
Apple Wallet passes display data on your iPhone lock screen, including data that may be visible without unlocking the device. You acknowledge and accept this lock-screen visibility. ZeroPets cannot revoke or delete a pass that has already been added to a device — to remove an old pass, you must delete it from Apple Wallet on the device where it was installed. Pass updates are delivered on a best-effort basis and depend on Apple's APNs availability and your device's network connectivity. ZeroPets does not guarantee delivery latency or successful update for any individual pass.
The Lost Pet Pass is intentionally public when activated. When you mark your pet as missing in the App or scan a collar tag, the following information is made publicly accessible to anyone who scans your pet's QR code or visits the lost-pet URL associated with that pet, without authentication:
You expressly authorize ZeroPets to publish this information without further notice while the pass is in the "Missing" state and to continue showing it for a reasonable period after the pet is marked recovered, so that finders who scan a collar can confirm the pet is home. You are responsible for the accuracy of the contact information on the pass and for the consequences of choosing to make it public. ZeroPets is not responsible for unsolicited contact, scams targeting lost pet listings, or any harm arising from the public nature of this disclosure. You can deactivate the public Lost Pet Pass at any time from within the App, but cached or screenshot copies may persist outside our control.
Finder-submitted sightings. Members of the public can submit sighting reports through your pet's public lost-pet page, including a pinned location, photo, and optional note. Sightings are user-submitted and unverified. ZeroPets does not authenticate the identity of finders, validate the accuracy of pinned locations, or guarantee that any sighting represents your actual pet. Use sightings as one input among many — verify in person before acting, and contact local authorities for any encounter that may be unsafe.
Third-party GPS trackers (Tractive). ZeroPets supports an integration with Tractive GPS collars. We poll the Tractive API on a fixed interval to retrieve your collar's last known position; we do not manufacture, sell, service, calibrate, or warrant any Tractive hardware, and we are not affiliated with Tractive. Tracker accuracy, signal coverage, battery life, polling delays, and service availability are determined by Tractive and by the cellular and GPS networks Tractive depends on. ZeroPets is not liable for any consequence of inaccurate, delayed, missing, or stale tracker positions, including failure to recover a pet.
The Sitter Pass lets you grant a temporary, revocable view of selected pet information (feeding schedule, medications, vet contact, emergency contact, embedded Lost Pet QR, and similar fields) to a third party such as a dog walker, sitter, kennel, or family member. You are solely responsible for:
Once you share a Sitter Pass, the recipient can save the data shown on the pass to their device. Revocation removes future updates and the live pass, but cannot recall information the recipient has already viewed, screenshotted, copied, or memorized. ZeroPets is not a party to your arrangement with any caregiver and bears no responsibility for the actions or omissions of any sitter, walker, kennel, or other recipient.
The Travel Pass aggregates information about your pet's microchip, rabies titer, USDA APHIS forms, destination requirements, and airline policies for your convenience. The Travel Pass is a personal reference only. It is not, and does not replace, government-issued or USDA-endorsed travel documentation, an APHIS health certificate, an airline-approved health certificate, or any official permit required for international or interstate pet travel. You are solely responsible for obtaining and presenting all required physical and digital documents at airports, border crossings, customs, airline check-in counters, and destination authorities. ZeroPets is not liable for denied boarding, denied entry, quarantine, or any other consequence of relying on the Travel Pass in lieu of official documentation. Destination requirements, airline policies, and titer validity periods change frequently — always verify current rules with the relevant authority before you travel.
ZeroPets offers free tools to rescues that have been verified as IRS 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organizations using third-party data sources (including the IRS Tax Exempt Organization Search and ProPublica Nonprofit Explorer). Verification of 501(c)(3) status is not an endorsement, recommendation, certification of operational quality, or guarantee of any rescue's animal welfare practices, financial integrity, or adoption fitness. ZeroPets does not investigate individual animals, conduct home checks, perform background checks on adopters, or mediate disputes between adopters and rescues.
If you submit an adoption application or inquiry through the Service, your contact information and the answers you provide are shared directly with the listing rescue. The rescue's own privacy and intake practices apply to that information once received. Any subsequent adoption agreement is solely between you and the rescue.
If you complete an adoption through the Adopter Welcome Kit handoff, the rescue may transfer the pet's basic profile (name, species, breed, photo) and a primed Apple Wallet pass to your account. By accepting an Adopter Welcome Kit, you confirm you have a legitimate adoption arrangement for that pet and you authorize ZeroPets to transfer the listed profile to your account. By initiating an Adopter Welcome Kit as a transferring rescue, you represent that you have the legal right to transfer the pet and its associated profile.
Free Apple Wallet pass on adoption claim. When an adopter claims a listing using the link provided by a verified rescue, ZeroPets may issue a complimentary Apple Wallet pet ID pass for the adopted pet. Issuance of this pass is a courtesy and does not constitute legal proof of ownership, registration, vaccination compliance, microchip transfer, or any other regulated status. The adopter remains responsible for completing all jurisdiction-specific licensing, microchip re-registration, and veterinary onboarding through the appropriate authorities and a licensed veterinarian.
ZeroPets uses third-party artificial intelligence services (currently OpenAI) to generate wellness plans, parse uploaded vet records and PDFs into structured fields, produce health reports, perform symptom analyses, identify breeds, assess food safety, analyze photos, generate timeline summaries, and produce other automated suggestions. AI-generated content is produced by machine learning models and may contain inaccuracies, hallucinations, missing information, parsing errors, or outdated information. AI-generated content does not constitute professional veterinary, medical, legal, or financial advice of any kind.
Vet record parsing: when you upload a vet PDF or document, an AI model extracts fields such as vaccination type, dose date, and next-due date and writes them into your pet's record. The extracted values are best-effort estimates and may be wrong. You are responsible for reviewing parsed records against the original document before relying on them, and before any data flows out via a Wallet pass.
AI outputs are probabilistic estimates based on patterns in training data. They may be wrong, incomplete, or inappropriate for your specific pet's condition, breed, age, or medical history. Do not treat AI output as a definitive answer. Always verify AI-generated information with a qualified, licensed veterinarian before taking action.
All health-related tools, trackers, symptom checkers, medication reminders, vaccination schedules, weight tracking, and wellness suggestions are for informational and personal record-keeping purposes only. This information is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or health condition in animals. ZeroPets does not provide veterinary medical advice. Never disregard, delay, or discontinue professional veterinary care based on information obtained through the Service. In case of a pet health emergency, contact your veterinarian or emergency animal hospital immediately.
ZeroPets includes an AI-powered Vet Triage feature and a First Aid guide. These features are provided for general informational and triage-guidance purposes only. They are not a substitute for professional veterinary examination, diagnosis, or treatment. By using these features, you expressly acknowledge and agree to all of the following:
ZeroPets expressly disclaims any warranty, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, reliability, completeness, or fitness of AI Triage and First Aid outputs for any particular purpose.
You retain ownership of content you create and submit to the Service, including pet profiles, photos, lost-pet listings, rescue listings (if you are an authorized rescue user), uploaded vet records, and similar content ("User Content"). By submitting User Content, you grant ZeroPets a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, transmit, display, modify (for technical formatting and AI parsing), and distribute your User Content within the Service for the purpose of operating, improving, and securing the Service. Public-facing content (such as an active Lost Pet listing or an adoption listing posted by a rescue) is licensed for public display while it is active. You are solely responsible for the accuracy, legality, and appropriateness of all User Content you submit. ZeroPets reserves the right to remove any User Content that violates these Terms or applicable law without prior notice.
ZeroPets is free for individual pet parents. Optional paid plans, in-app purchases, or premium features may be offered from time to time and are billed through the Apple App Store under Apple's standard subscription terms. You can manage and cancel subscriptions through your Apple ID account settings.
Rescue organizations may use the Service free of charge subject to verification of 501(c)(3) status. Large rescue networks, shelters, and enterprise users may enter into a separate written agreement with ZeroPets ("Enterprise Plan") that governs additional features, support levels, data handling, and pricing. In the event of a conflict between an Enterprise Plan agreement and these Terms, the Enterprise Plan agreement controls for that customer.
ZeroPets is monetized in part through aligned brand partnerships at relevant moments of need (for example, partner offers from pet insurance providers, food brands, or veterinary services). Where the Service displays sponsored, affiliate, or partner content, it will be clearly labeled as such. ZeroPets does not endorse the underlying products or services and makes no representation about their suitability for your pet. Transactions with any partner are governed by that partner's own terms. ZeroPets is not responsible for partner products, services, or fulfillment, and is not liable for any harm arising from your use of a partner's offering.
The Service depends on, references, or integrates with third-party services including Apple PassKit and APNs, OpenAI, Tractive (for GPS collar integration), payment processors, mapping providers, hosting infrastructure, the IRS Tax Exempt Organization data sources used for rescue verification, and partner brands. ZeroPets does not endorse, verify, or guarantee any third-party service except as expressly stated. Interactions with third-party services are governed by their own terms and policies. ZeroPets is not responsible for the quality, safety, pricing, availability, or data practices of third-party services.
Always consult a qualified professional. Nothing in the Service constitutes veterinary, medical, legal, financial, travel, or insurance advice. For any decision affecting your pet's health, safety, legal status, travel eligibility, or insurance coverage, you must consult a licensed and qualified professional in the relevant field — a licensed veterinarian for medical questions, a qualified attorney for legal questions, a licensed customs or travel professional for cross-border travel, and a licensed insurance agent for coverage questions. Do not rely on the Service in place of professional advice.
The Service, including its design, features, code, graphics, logos, pass templates, and content created by ZeroPets, is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, reverse engineer, or create derivative works of any part of the Service without written permission. The ZeroPets name, logo, and Boston Terrier mascot are trademarks of ZeroPets. Apple, Apple Wallet, PassKit, App Store, iPhone, and related marks are trademarks of Apple Inc. and are used here for descriptive purposes only.
You may delete your account at any time through Account → Privacy → Delete Account in the App. Account deletion will permanently remove your profile, your pets and their associated records, your uploaded documents, and your active Wallet pass data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes (such as fraud prevention or security investigations). Wallet passes already installed on a device must also be removed by deleting them from Apple Wallet on that device. ZeroPets reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or pose a risk to other users or to any pet. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. ZEROPETS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO: (A) ANY HARM, INJURY, ILLNESS, OR DEATH TO ANY ANIMAL RESULTING FROM RELIANCE ON AI-GENERATED TRIAGE, FIRST AID, AI VET RECORD PARSING, OR HEALTH GUIDANCE; (B) FAILURE TO RECOVER A LOST PET; (C) MISUSE OF CONTACT INFORMATION DISCLOSED THROUGH A LOST PET PASS; (D) DENIED BOARDING, DENIED ENTRY, QUARANTINE, OR OTHER TRAVEL CONSEQUENCES RELATED TO THE TRAVEL PASS; (E) ACTIONS OR OMISSIONS OF ANY SITTER, CAREGIVER, RESCUE, ADOPTER, OR PARTNER; OR (F) FAILURE OR DELAY OF AN APPLE WALLET PASS TO UPDATE. IN NO EVENT SHALL ZEROPETS' TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY EXCEED THE GREATER OF (I) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (USD $100) OR (II) THE AMOUNT YOU HAVE PAID TO ZEROPETS IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OF CERTAIN WARRANTIES OR LIMITATION OF LIABILITY, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless ZeroPets, Spartan Investment Group LLC, and their officers, directors, employees, contractors, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any rights of another party; (d) any content you submit; (e) any harm caused by, to, or in connection with your pet; or (f) any dispute between you and a sitter, caregiver, rescue, adopter, partner, or third party introduced through the Service.
These Terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or their subject matter or formation, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Washington and the federal laws of the United States applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
Binding individual arbitration. Except for small-claims matters that qualify and except as otherwise required by applicable law, any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service ("Dispute") shall be resolved exclusively through final and binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association ("AAA") under its then-current Consumer Arbitration Rules, and not by court action. The arbitration shall be conducted by a single arbitrator, seated in King County, Washington, and may be conducted by telephone, videoconference, or in writing where the AAA rules so permit. Judgment on the award may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction.
Notice of dispute and informal resolution. Before initiating arbitration, the party raising a Dispute must send the other party a written Notice of Dispute describing the claim and the requested relief: to ZeroPets at ZeroPets@Outlook.com, or to you at the email on file with your account. The parties will attempt in good faith to resolve the Dispute informally for sixty (60) days from receipt of the Notice before either party may commence arbitration.
Filing window. Any Dispute must be filed within one (1) year after the cause of action accrues, or it is permanently barred, to the maximum extent permitted by law.
Jury trial and class action waiver. You and ZeroPets each waive any right to a trial by jury and any right to bring or participate in a class action, collective action, consolidated action, or representative proceeding. The arbitrator may award relief only on an individual basis. If this class action waiver is found to be unenforceable as to any particular claim or remedy, then that claim or remedy (and only that claim or remedy) shall be severed and brought in a court of competent jurisdiction located in King County, Washington, while all other claims shall remain in arbitration. The remainder of this Section shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.
Exclusive forum for non-arbitrable matters. For any claim that is not subject to arbitration (including small-claims actions and proceedings to enforce an arbitration award), you and ZeroPets consent to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the state and federal courts located in King County, Washington.
If you have questions about these Terms of Service, please contact us through the Help & Support section in the App or email us at ZeroPets@Outlook.com.
