Adopter Welcome Kit

When you mark a pet adopted, we email the new family a private claim link. They tap once and get the pet's profile, an Apple Wallet pet ID, and a primed Lost Pet pass — all loaded.

L

Lock-screen Lost Pet recovery

Every adopter gets a Lost Pet pass with a public share link, a face-match upload page for finders, and an iOS Live Activity that pulses on the lock screen until the pet is home.

Why we made this free.

Rescues do the hard work of placing pets. Software shouldn't be an obstacle — it should be a force multiplier.

What you get

Unlimited adoption listings, unlimited welcome kits, full conversion analytics, CSV export, rescue-to-rescue transfer, and a Featured-tier badge across the rest of the app — at no cost.

We never charge rescues. Period.

How we sustain it

Pet parents get ZeroPets free. Revenue comes from aligned brand partnerships — surfaced at moments of real need (food scanning, vet triage), never injected into rescue workflows.

If your rescue ever co-promotes a partner offer, you get attribution and a cut. Opt-in only.

Common questions

What's the catch? Is it really free?

It's really free. Not a trial, not a freemium tier — free forever for any rescue with a verified IRS 501(c)(3) status under NTEE code D (animal-related). We sustain the platform via brand partnerships in pet-parent flows, not rescue flows. Read more on our main site.

How does verification work?

You enter your EIN. We query the IRS Business Master File (the public dataset of all U.S. tax-exempt orgs) and confirm 501(c)(3) status with an animal-related NTEE classification (D20, D30, D40, D50, D60). If you're verified there, you're approved here — usually in seconds, no manual review.

What happens to a pet's record if our rescue stops using ZeroPets?

The adopter owns their pet's record forever. If you sunset your account, the adopter's wallet pass, lost-pet recovery, and pet profile keep working. The handoff is permanent at claim time.

Can two rescues transfer a pet between them?

Yes. We ship rescue-to-rescue transfers — the receiving rescue accepts, the pet's adoption listing carries over with full Provenance in the wallet pass. No data loss.

Do adopters need an iPhone?

No. The Apple Wallet pass is iOS-only, but the pet profile, Lost Pet share page, finder face-match, and rescue dashboard work on any device. iOS adopters get the lock-screen Live Activity for lost pets too.

Who do I contact?

Email ZeroPets@Outlook.com. We're a small team — usually you'll get a response from the founder within a day.
